The Project Pink Story
In 2023, Julie Stein, a breast cancer survivor and resident of New Canaan, with the help of her friends and the community, founded Project Pink New Canaan to help raise awareness and much-needed funds for breast cancer research.
I remember sitting in my kitchen when the phone rang, and I got the news to find a breast oncologist. I was all alone. The kids were in school. Jeff was behind closed doors in the conference room at his office, and I was numb.

​Fast-forward six years. I am happy to say I am fortunate. I've had the most incredible support from family and friends. I do all I can to make sure no one ever feels alone with their diagnosis and can be connected to the many resources out there. I will continue to strive to increase awareness and education and raise funds for a cure.
I am beyond grateful to the town of New Canaan for supporting me in my desire to raise awareness by endorsing Project Pink New Canaan.​
